INDUSTRIAL PROJECTS:
P.M.Kamat has a vast experince in the design of different industrial structures both in India and abroad. BDK Consultants has designed a number of industrial structures. Before preparing the concept drawing, we insist on learning not only about the client, but also about his work operations. This is the way we produce functional and aesthetic solutions to suit the clients needs. Some of our more prominent clients are:Zuari Industries Ltd., Airports Authority of India, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.,Goa Shipyard Ltd.( A Govt. of India concern), Meta Strips Ltd., Phil Corporation Ltd.,Nestor Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Impala Distillery and Brewery Pvt. Ltd., Desai Cements Ltd.- (Zuari Cement Grinding Unit), Goa Industrial Development Corporation Ltd etc.

A brief write up of some of our industrial projects is:
1. Corlim Marine Exports Pvt. Ltd.: Our services for the first phase of this Fish Processing and Export Plant included RCC and Structural design, design of machine room layout and foundations, on-site lineout, design of loading-unloading bays, drive-ways for container and truck movement, advise on insulation aspects, design of effluent treatment plant, design of water tanks and cooling tower, measurement and certification of bills, and construction supervision etc. We also prepared as built drawings of the factory unit. We have also been involved with the Valuation of the plant for financial institutions. The cold storage rooms are the largest in Goa. In the second phase, our services included architectural design in addition to the above services. The Plant layout had to designed as per HACCP requirements.

2. Phil Corporation Ltd.: This is a cashew processing industry set up in Goa. Our services included conceptual drawings, liason with food processing consultants, architectural and structural drawings, site layout, planning of drying yards, boiler and cashew roaster layout and installation, processing room and packing and storage departments and the design and layout of the Office premises. We were also responsible for the approvals, liason with local authorities including the Chief Inspectorate of factories and boilers, preparation of specification for civil works and Bill of Quantities and certification of bills.

3. Nestor Pharmaceuticals Ltd.: Our services for this Pharmaceutical Plant have been comprehensive. We have been involved in the contour survey, conceptual design and layout, architectural and structural design, road layout, preparation of specifications and tender documents, Bill of quantities, finalisation of contractor. On site our services included contour surveying, building lineout, construction supervision, internal layout, etc. We also carried out liason work with the local authorities and approvals from the Chief Inspectorate of factories, preparing as-built drawings, submitting work progress and valuation reports of land, buildings and plant and machinery to financial institutions. We were also involved with the design of the Water supply and sanitary, sewage and effluent discharge systems. Today, Nestor is ISO 9001 compliant. The main feature of the design is the 16m column to column spacing for greater interior flexibility at Nestor Pharmaceuticals. The plinth area of this ground+1 structure is 4000 square meters.

4. Goa Shipyard Ltd. - 150,000 liters Overhead tank: We were selected as Consultants for the design of the overhead tank through competitive bidding. Our services involved architecture and well as RCC design of the Tank, specifications, bill of quantities and tender documents, selection of contractor, project monitoring and supervision, laying down safety standards and ensuring that they are met, bill checking and certification. The height of the tank is 18m from ground level and is resting on clayey soil. The site is within 50m of the river.

5. Dessai Cement Co. Pvt. Ltd.: Dessai Cement Co. Pvt. Ltd. was an initiative to set up a cement clinker grinding unit by a Police officer with no experience either as private entrepreneur or as a man from the construction industry. This made our work more difficult for the Plant design and layout. Services rendered here included architectural design and planning, RCC and structural design, design of machine foundations, cement and clinker silos, hoppers, ball mill, bagging plant and workshop and ancillary facilities, retaining walls, etc.

6. Hyundai Motor India Ltd.: This project saw us design the Hyundai showroom and workshop structure. In this project, BDK Consultants were involved right from the clearances for the land, architecture planning and layout, RCC and structural design, liaison with local authorities, design of drainage system and oil separator, repair bays and layout etc. The main showroom has a 11m portal frame carrying a suspended slab where the offices of the senior officers are located. This gives an unrestricted column free showroom area of 250 square meters approximately. The height of the showroom is 5 meters.

7. Transit Cargo Shed: We provided all the Architectural and RCC and structural design services for the construction of this structure. The structure has a steel trusses spanning 31m centre to centre at a height of 6m.

8. Meta Strips Ltd.: We were appointed as Consulting engineers and structural designers for structures like The Ganapati temple, Bachelors' accommodation, residential buildings, Dross Storage shed, Parking shed, subway and water sump.

Major Works Completed Or In Progress:-
