P.
M. Kamat is a Chartered Structural
Engineer from England. He is a Member of
the Institute of Structural Engineers (UK).
He is also a Chartered Engineer (India)
and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers
(India). He is a Fellow of the Institution
of Valuers in India. He has a rich design
and construction experience of 40 years
having handled various industrial, institutional,
commercial and residential projects both
in the United Kingdom as well as India.
After completing his Bachelors' degree
from the University of Pune, he worked
in a design firm Shroff and Tembe, Bombay
(now Mumbai) designing R.C. / Multi Storied
Buildings, Factory Buildings, Water Tanks.
In Britain, P. M. Kamat worked in different
Design firms namely Sir Bruce White, Wolfe
Barrey and Partners - London, Sir William
Halcrow and Partners - London, Lumus Co.
Ltd. - London and Power Gas Corporation
- London. In England, was involved with
the design of number of industrial structures
like Chemical plants, power projects, workshops,
marine structures, dry docks, flyovers
and bridges. Here, he completed his M.Phil
(Research in Concrete structures) from
King's College, University of London and
his Post-Graduate Diploma in Concrete Technology
from the University of Leeds. He was also
a Part time lecturer in Structures at Brixton
School of Technology, London. He was involved
in Laboratory work and taught Design at
Kings College, University of London. On
his return to India, he worked with Tata
Consulting Engineers, Bombay where he was
in the design team of Power Projects. He
then joined Zuari Agro Chemicals Ltd, Goa
(A joint venture with the then US Steel)
who were setting up a fertilizer factory
in Goa. Here, he looked after the Project
Management of the main fertilizer structure
right from the inception. He has also designed
a number of structures like the extension
to the Bagging Plant, Pipe racks, Dehumidification
Plant, Purge gas recovery unit, a 200,000
liters ground level water reservoir, Civil
works for package boilers, Cooling Tower,
Extension to maintainance shop, new building
for stores, etc. He retired from Zuari
Agro as the Chief Manager- Design and construction.
As the Chief manager, he was in-charge
of the Design Section where design comprising
of Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Architectural
and Instrumentation for various projects
are handled. Since November 1997, he is
full time with BDK Consultants. P. M. Kamat
is a past President of the Rotary Club
of Vasco Da Gama.

Deepak
Ghorpade is a Chartered Engineer and
a Member of the Institution of Engineers
(India). Deepak completed his Bachelors'
degree in Civil Engineering from the College
of Engineering, Karad in 1987. On graduation,
Deepak Joined a Consulting Engineers firm
in Kolhapur and worked on the Planning
and drawings of different projects like
Sugar factories, Oil mills, Educational
Institutions, etc. In 1992, Deepak joined
the Department of Telecommunication, Government
of India as a Junior Engineer (Civil).
Here his work involved Government billing
procedures, Estimation, Preparation of
Tender documents, Specifications, measurements,
etc. He has worked on the construction
of Telephone Exchange buildings, Staff
quarters and Microwave stations. He also
looked after the maintenance of the Staff
quarters. He then joined BDK Consultants
and worked on the Design and construction
of various commercial, residential, Industrial
and institutional structures. After working
with BDK Consultants for 2 years, he joined
ARM Engineers as the Project Engineer of
a Sugar Factory being constructed at Nilanga,
Maharashtra. His work here involved layout
and construction of main factory building
and foundations, boiler foundations, Turbine
foundations, Clarification tank, Ground
water reservoir of 7 million liters, sugar
godown of 2 million bags capacity, lime
and sugar silos, etc. In 1997, he rejoined
BDK Consultants as the Project Incharge
of the Construction firm- Kamat Properties
and Homes, a sister concern.

Bharat
Kamat is a Chartered Engineer and a
Member of the Institution of Engineer (India).
He is a Government Approved Valuer and
a Fellow of the Institution of Valuers
in India. Bharat completed his Bachelor's
degree in Civil Engineering from Shivaji
University, Maharashtra in 1992 and is
the Proprietor of BDK Consultants. He is
also the founding Partner of Kamat Properties
and Homes, a firm involved in the Development
and Construction of Real Estate Properties.
Bharat has an experience of 12 years both
in the design office and on site his activities
involve purchase of land including legal
documentation, advising clients on schemes
and projects, preparing complete scheme
designs including costings, specifications,
tender documents, providing technical advise
on the appointment of the contractors,
preparation of papers for submission to
Loan sanctioning authorities, etc. He is
also responsible for the execution of work
on site right from setting out of the building,
execution of works, bill preparation and
certification, etc. Some of the major projects
he has handled among the others are Sanchayani
Anant Vishwa, Kamat Palace, Nestor Pharmaceuticals,
Rajesh Industries, Phil Corporation Ltd.,
Anand square, etc He also looks after the
works executed under Kamat Properties and
Homes. At Kamat Properties and homes, we
take up Turn Key Construction jobs which
are handled independently by Bharat. Anand
Square- a Ground+8 building consisting
of 48 flats is the latest job being looked
after by BDK Consultants. Bharat Kamat
is the President of the Rotary Club of
Vasco Da Gama for the year 2004-05. He
is also the Regional Director of a Project
called "Saving Lives" of the
Rotary Club of Birmingham. He is the Project
Director of The World Community Service
Project of the Rotary Club of Vasco Da
Gama. Bharat is a member of the "Coal
Pollution Monitoring Committee" appointed
by the Government of Goa. He is a member
on the "Railway Station Consultative
Committee" appointed by the South
Western Railways, Government of India for
the third consecutive term. He is also
a LIFE PATRON of the Indian Red Cross.

Abel
Dourado is an Architect from the Indian
Institute of Architects - AIIA. Abel joined
the Civil Engineering department of Zuari
Agro Chemicals in 1971. In 1981, he quit
Zuari Agro and proceeded to the Middle
East where he worked for a Saudi Arabian
firm having a Dutch collaboration. In the
Gulf, he was involved in the Design and
Construction of several buildings, each
distinctly different, like a Palace at
Jeddah, Taif gardens and important government
buildings. He returned to Goa in 1984 and
set up his practice at Vasco Da Gama. Though
Abel specialises in bungalow architecture,
he has also designed and constructed school
buildings, hotels, Churches, Chapels, Blsd.
Jose Vaz sanctuary, residential and commercial
complexes, interiors of commercial establishments,
clinics, etc.

Dushyant
Kamat completed his Bachelor of Architecture
from the Goa College of Architecture in
1996 and is an Associate of the Indian
Institute of Architects. He then joined
BDK Consultants and looks after the Architectural
Planning. He has also completed his Law
(L.L.B.) and Management (PGDM) from the
Goa University. He is also a Member of
the Institute of Environmental Engineers.
Dushyant has designed a number of residential
and commercial buildings and Interior design
work. He is also responsible for the liaison
work with the various Government agencies.
Duyshyant also handles the jobs coming
up in the Government sector like the IOC,
Goa Shipyard Ltd, etc. Dushyant is the
Chairman of the Panjim City Roundtable
and a Trustee of the International Center,
Goa.
